...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM EST TUESDAY THROUGH THURSDAYMORNING...The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a* Flood Watch for portions of east central New York including thefollowing areas, Northern Warren, Hamilton and Northern HerkimerCounties.* From 1 AM EST Tuesday through Thursday morning* Anomalously warm temperatures will allow for considerable snowmelt in the southern Adirondacks Tuesday morning into Wednesdaynight. One to three inches of snow melt is expected. Inaddition, half an inch to an inch and a half of rainfall ispossible tonight into Wednesday. Ice jam flooding is alsopossible in the watch area.* Significant rises are expected on rivers, streams and creeksincluding the Sacandaga, Upper Hudson, and Schroon Rivers. Thepotential for flooding will increase in the warm air mass with theflood threat continuing into Thursday morning.

In addition, very warm temperatures will causesignificant snow melt. The combination of rain and snow melt willcause area streams and rivers to rise.Ice jams will also need to be monitored from Fish Creek and Tabergto Sylvan Beach.
