...A BAND OF LAKE EFFECT SNOW WILL AFFECT SOUTHERN JEFFERSON...LEWISAND NORTHERN OSWEGO COUNTIES...At 250 PM EST, A band of lake effect snow producing snow fall ratesof up to 2 inches per hour extended inland from Lake Ontario. Thenorthern edge of this lake effect snow band extends along a linefrom Henderson to Carthage to near Diane Center. The southern edgeof this lake effect snow band extends along a line from Pulaski toNorth Osceola to near Turin.Locations impacted include...Watertown, Oswego, Sandy Island Beach State Park, Fort Drum, StonyPoint, Carthage, Lowville, Pulaski, West Carthage and Adams.This includes Interstate 81 between exits 35 and 47.Driving within this snow band will be extremely difficult with snowcovered roads and visibilities down to near zero at times.
