Central Yates County... * Until 845 AM EDT... * At 543 AM EDT Local Officials Continued To Report A Major Flood Event Was Continuing Over A Large Portion Of Yates County...Including The Villages Of Branchport And Penn Yan Where Severe Damage Had Occurred To Roads And Buildings In The Region. * Some Locations Experiencing Flooding Include Bluff Point... Branchport...Guyanoga...Italy...Keuka Park...Mays Mills...Milo Center...Penn Yan...Potter And Yatesville. Be Aware Of Flooded Areas And Washed Out Roads In Your Location. Ditches And Culverts In Your Immediate Neighborhood May Be Affected. Officials Urge You To Avoid All Flooded Areas And Do Not Drive Through Barricaded Zones! There Is Likely No Roadway Left Beyond The Blockades. If You Must Travel To Work This Morning...Plan On Long Delays And Finding Alternate Routes.

Central Seneca County... * Until 730 AM EDT * At 330 AM EDT...Local Officials And Scanner Traffic Reported Areas Of Flooded Roads And Other Water Problems Were Occurring Around The Ovid Area. * Locations In The Advisory Include But Are Not Limited To Ovid. Doppler Radar Estimates Indicated Between 2 To 3 Inches Of Rain Had Fallen Earlier In The Night In A Narrow Band Across Central Seneca County. Some Additional Thunderstorms Will Move Into The Area After 5 AM With Another One Half To Three Quarters Inch Possible. Localized Flood Problems Will Continue Through The Early Morning As The Rainwater Flushes Through Area Streams. In General...Any Flooding Should Remain Minor. This Advisory Replaces The Flash Flood Warning Previously In Effect.

There Have Been Numerous Reports Of Severe Flooding To Roads And Structures In The Central And Western Part Of Yates County. Evacuations And Water Rescues Are Underway At This Time. * Locations In The Warning Include But Are Not Limited To Branchport And Penn Yan. At 159 AM EDT...National Weather Service Doppler Radar Indicated That 2 To 3 Inches Of Rain Had Fallen In The Last Several Hours In A Narrow Band Centered Mainly In The Ovid Vicinity. Flooded Streets And Basements Have Been Reported In The Ovid Area. The Seriousness Of Flooding Is Unknown At This Time. * Locations In The Warning Include But Are Not Limited To Rural Areas Of Southern Cayuga And Southern Seneca Counties. Rain Had Ended In The Area...But Streams And Creeks Will Continue To Rapidly Rise Over The Next Hour Or Two. Additional Flooding Is Likely To Develop In The Southern Part Of The County.

Erie County In Western New York... * Until 545 AM EDT * At 151 AM EDT National Weather Service Doppler Radar Showed An Area Of Showers And Embedded Thunderstorms Producing Heavy Rain Moving Northward Into The Southern Tier. Rainfall Amounts Of A Half Inch To An Inch Per Hour Was Estimated By Radar. Additional Showers And Thunderstorms Will Move Into The Area Through 4 AM. Additional Heavy Rainfall Is Expected Over Areas Which Received Heavy Rainfall Tuesday Morning. This Could Lead To Renewed Flooding.
