...Lake Effect Snow Warning Now In Effect Until 6 AM EST Early This Morning... * Locations...Jefferson County...Including Watertown And Fort Drum. * Timing...Through Early This Morning. * Accumulations...Up To An Additional 2 Inches In The Most Persistent Lake Snows Through 6 AM. * Winds...Southwest 5 To 10 Mph. * Visibilities...As Low As A Half Mile At Times. * Impacts...A Strong Lake Effect Band Will Gradually Weaken As It Lifts Northward Overnight. The Heaviest Snows Will Fall Near And Just South Of Watertown...And Along The Western Face Of The Tug Hill. This Will Produce Very Difficult Travel Conditions...Especially Near And Just South Of Watertown... Including Interstate 81 As Well As Secondary Roads.

The Potential Remains For The Water To Slowly Rise And Affect Property In The Area.

In Addition...West To Southwest Winds Gusting Up To 25 Mph Will Result In Blowing And Drifting Of Snow...Resulting In Reduced Visibilities To Less Than A Quarter Of A Mile At Times. If Traveling Across Jefferson County...Expect Poor Visibilities And Snow Covered Roadways Making For Extremely Difficult To Near Impossible Travel Conditions. Driving Conditions May Change Very Rapidly Over A Very Short Distance Across The County. This Includes Interstate 81 North Of The Oswego...Jefferson County Line To Exit 44 South Of Watertown In Jefferson County.
