...MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW LIFTING ACROSS THE AREA THROUGH THEEARLY AFTERNOON HOURS...A band of moderate to heavy snowfall is located across Schoharie,Greene and Columbia Counties and is heading northeastward. Thisband of snow will impact the Mohawk Valley, Capital Region,northern Taconics, Berkshires, Lake George Saratoga Region andsouthern Vermont through the early afternoon hours.Snow rates within this band will be around one inch per hour.Up to three inches of additional snowfall is expected by 3 pm. AWinter Storm Warning remains in effect for the entire area.This snow will quickly cover roadways, allow for low visibilityand make for slow and difficult travel. If you must travel thisafternoon, be sure to allow for extra time and be prepared forwinter driving conditions.

Once snow begins,visibility will quickly be reduced to under one mile and locallyheavy bursts will reduce visibility to under one half mile attimes. Snow rates may reach around one inch per hour by the latemorning hours. A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for theentire area.This snow will quickly cover roadways and make for slow anddifficult travel.
