...A BAND OF LAKE EFFECT SNOW WILL AFFECT SOUTHERN JEFFERSON...WESTCENTRAL LEWIS AND NORTHEASTERN OSWEGO COUNTIES...At 625 PM EST, A band of lake effect snow producing snow fall ratesof 1 to 3 inches per hour extended inland from Lake Ontario. Thenorthern edge of this lake band extends along a line from Bellevilleto Barnes Corners to Bellwood. The southern edge of this lake bandextends along a line from Sandy Creek to Rector. This band of lakeeffect snow is nearly stationary.Locations impacted include...Stony Point, Lowville, Adams, Adams Center, Henderson Harbor, BarnesCorners, Southwick Beach State Park, Whetstone Gulf State Park,Denmark and Henderson.This includes Interstate 81 between exits 37 and 43.Visibilities will drop quickly to less than a quarter of a mile attimes in this band of lake effect snow.Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations.
