...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM EST THIS MORNINGTHROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING...The Flood Watch continues for* Flood Watch for all of eastern New York excluding the westernAdirondacks, for northwestern Connecticut, westernMassachusetts, and southern Vermont.* From 7 AM EST this morning through Wednesday morning* Rainfall amounts of three quarters of an inch to an inch and aquarter along with snowmelt on today may be enough to dislodgeriver ice which would then move downstream and potentially jamat preferred locations. Areas in the river channels which aremost prone to ice jam flooding include obstructions in thechannel such as islands, locks, bridge piers and docks; changesin the channel such as narrowing of the channel, bends, gorgesand intact ice cover; change in channel depth from deep water toshallow water; and merger of river channels.
