...A BAND OF LAKE EFFECT SNOW WILL AFFECT NORTHWESTERN CATTARAUGUS...SOUTHWESTERN ERIE AND NORTHEASTERN CHAUTAUQUA COUNTIES...A band of lake effect snow producing snow fall rates up to an inchper hour will affect northwestern Cattaraugus, southwestern Erie,and northeastern Chautauqua Counties through mid afternoon.Localized snowfall rates of up to 1.5 inches per hour will bepossible at times within this band.Locations impacted include...Dunkirk, Fredonia, Gowanda, Silver Creek, Lake Erie State Park, SunyFredonia, Collins, Portland, Sheridan and Dayton.This includes Interstate 90 between exits 59 and 58.Use extra caution if you must travel into or through this band ofheavy lake effect snow. Be prepared for very poor visibility andsnow cover on roads.
