LAWRENCE COUNTIES...At 511 PM EST, a band of heavy lake effect snow was located along aline extending from near Star Lake to 9 miles south of Madawaska.The heavy snow band is nearly stationary.This area of heavy snow will remain over mainly rural areas ofsouthern Southeastern St. Lawrence...southwestern Southern Franklinand southern Southwestern St. Lawrence Counties, including thefollowing locations: Lower Oswegatchie, Aldrich, Paul Smiths,Saranac Inn, Wanakena, Gabriels, Upper Saint Regis, St. RegisMountain, Gale and Pitcairn.Snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour are occurring within thislake effect snow band. This will result in very poor visibility andsnow covered roads.Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Beprepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extratime when traveling.
