...Strong to severe thunderstorms possible later this afternoonand evening...While there will be some showers and possible thunderstorms overthe region into the midday hours...the time of concern will belater this afternoon and evening when a cold front will pushacross the state. This front will generate a second round ofstorms that could reach severe limits.Winds aloft will be dangerously favorable for strong to severethunderstorms with damaging winds...but cloud cover from thismornings shower activity could limit the amount of energyavailable for the late day storms. Simply put...the more sun wereceive today...the greater the threat. The severe weatherpotential will be greatest between 3 and 6 PM for the far westerncounties...between 5 and 8 PM for the Finger Lakes region...andbetween 7 and 10 PM for the Eastern Lake Ontario region.Along with the risk for widespread severe weather...there will beheightened concern for flooding due to slow moving downpours andvery wet existing conditi
