This trail was the main road used to travel in Cattaraugus County between the years 1808-1814. It is mostly located in Cattaraugus County. A drive, ride or hike tour is being put together. There is thought that a theme brochure be created and that it be put on the County website. The Advisory Committee would like this to be highlighted on the map that is included in the County Tourism book.
This calendar will provide a year of activities for the whole family. It will have all the bicentennial activities as well as the activities of the municipalities in the County. The calendar will be available in November 2007.
The Senior Citizens of the County are gathering the family favorite recipes to be put together into a cookbook you won't want to miss.

This event will take place on Tuesday, March 11, 2008, the actual date of the County's incorporation. Plans are being made to have the Cattaraugus County Legislative Board meeting at the Ellicottville Town Hall, across the street from the actual site of the first Board meeting. The details are being worked out for a reception to follow. Other ideas being explored for this day are: ringing of the bell, dedication of State Plaques commemorating the establishment of Cattaraugus County, unveiling of the County wall hangings, press conference, and birthday cake.
These wall hangings will reflect more of how "quilts" are created today. Municipalities have been submitting a photo of a building today to be incorporated into the wall hangings. The finished wall hangings will be displayed in the County Center in Little Valley and in the County Building in Olean.
During the Bicentennial year, two trees will be planted at the Olean and Little Valley County Buildings to commemorate the Bicentennial.
