Cornell Cooperative Extension Associations of Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie and Wyoming Counties will host a workshop on High Tunnel Fruit and Vegetable Production on Saturday, October 24th from 9:00am-2:30pm at the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany St. Elizabeth Motherhouse, 115 E. A Free Webinar, “Alternative Production Methods for Strawberries”, will kick off the strawberry mini series when it airs live September 9th, 2009 at 12:45 PM. Featured speakers for this webcast are Dr. Lewis Jett, West Virginia State University, and Ms. Kathy Demchak, Penn State University. Dr. Jett will be speaking on growing strawberries in high tunnels. For Dogs, Cats and Ferrets

On September 10, 2009 from 4:30 - 7:30 at the Allegany Highway Barn, 3108 N. 7th Street, Allegany, NY 14706

Rabies vaccinations are required for all cats, dogs and domesticated ferrets by four months of age (but not less than 12 weeks). Cats and dogs are given a booster one year later and every three years thereafter. Ferrets must be vaccinated annually. Read more

Car Seat Inspection

Every month there will be a Child Safety Seat, Permanent Fitting Station.

Appointments are not given, but numbers will be given out and cars will be taken in order of arrival. Numbers are given out until 5:30.

Where: Allegany Fire Department

When: Every third Thursday of the month

Time: 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Cost: Free of charge but donations are appreciated to help defray costs.
