Cattaraugus County to Waive Fees at Transfer Stations for Storm Debris

The Cattaraugus County Legislature has unanimously approved a measure to allow Cattaraugus County residents affected by the recent flooding throughout the region to dispose of storm debris free of charge at the Portville, Allegany, and Salamanca Transfer Stations on Saturday, December 11th and Saturday, December 18th.

Disaster Operations Center opened due to States of Emergency

The Cattaraugus County Office of Emergency Services is operating a Disaster Operations Center as a result of localized regional flooding. In cooperation with the National Weather Service, the Office of Emergency Services is closely monitoring the situation throughout Cattaraugus County.

A State of Emergency has been declared for the Village of Allegany and the Town of Portville.

Road Closings & Shelters for Flood Victims

Due to the flooding Cattaraugus County has created two maps to aid residents and travelers.

Operation Report Forms for Public Water Systems & Public Pools

The “DOH-360CUV: Water System Operation Report” form is used to report on the daily operation of disinfection systems for public water supplies.

The "DOH-1323: Report on Operation of Swimming Pool" form is used to report on the daily operation of disinfection systems for public swimming pools.

Both of these forms are available in two file types below.  One is a pdf version that may be printed and filled in by hand.  The other is a MS Excel file, for operators that wish to fill out the report on a computer.  Read more

Environmental Health Services Fees

All fees charged for Environmental Health services are established by the Cattaraugus County Legislature through local law.

The download below is the most recent revision of the local law establishing fees to be charged by the Cattaraugus County Health Department.  This law became effective August 1, 2011. 

Please note that with the establishment of this fee schedule, non-profit organizations are no longer exempt from fees charged for Environmental Health services.

Water-Sewage Survey Request Form

The "Water/Sewer Survey Request Form" is used to request a survey (or inspection) of private water supplies and sewage disposal systems in connection with Real Property Transfers.  Cattaraugus County requires that these surveys be performed for many types of property transfers.  In addition, lending agencies may also require them as part of the lending process.

Sewage Disposal System Permit Application & Information

Construction of small sewage disposal systems in Cattaraugus County requires a permit issued by the Cattaraugus County Health Department.

The "Application for a Small Sewage Disposal System Construction Permit" is the standard form used to obtain a permit for all sewage disposal system types. Read more

Plan Review & Approval Forms

The following forms are used to apply for review and approval of plans for engineered/permitted facilities and activities regulated by the Cattaraugus County Health Department.

"DOH-154: Notice of Intent to Construct, Enlarge or Convert a Facility" is a standard application for plan review and approval.  This form is used for most permitted facility types.

"CCHD: Application for Approval of Plans for a Food Service Establishment" is a custom application for review and approval of plans for Food Service Establishments in Cattaraugus County. Read more

Absentee Ballot Deadline Extended for Military and Overseas Voters

The New York State Board of Elections has produced a TV and radio PSA alerting military families and New Yorkers with family members living overseas that the absentee ballot deadline has been extended.

Ballots postmarked by November 1, 2010 will be accepted and counted until November 24, 2010.

The New York State Office of Emergency Management Office (NYS OEM) today reminded New Yorkers that while the official start of winter is still eight weeks away they should begin preparations now to ensure their safety at home and on the road during the season ahead.
