Tire Collection at Salamanca Transfer Station

There will be a tire collection at the Salamanca Transfer Station on August 16, 2014. 

Collection times for all stations are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The County will accept a maximum of four (4) car tires per licensed driver at no charge on scheduled collection days. Any tires in excess of the four-tire limit will be accepted at the regular rates listed below. Read more

There will be a rabies clinic held at the Cattaraugus County Department of Public Works garage in Little Valley on May 3, 2014 from 9:00 am to Noon.

Rabies Vaccinations are required for ALL cats, dogs and domesticated ferrets by FOUR months of age (but not less than 12 weeks).

Cats and dogs are given a booster one year later and every three years thereafter. Ferrets must be vaccinated annually.

No charge for vaccination but donations accepted to help defray costs! Read more

Drug Task Force makes arrest for Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance

After an investigation conducted by the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force the listed defendant was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance with intent to sell in the third degree, and two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree.

The charges were a result from two separate incidents where the listed defendant sold cocaine to another person while in the City of Salamanca.

The defendant was arraigned in the City of Salamanca where he was remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu 10,000.00 dollars bail.
