New York state provides a free, customizable alert system residents to receive notifications of numerous events such as severe weather, road closures, sex offender relocation, amber and silver alerts, and much more. Go online at the link below to sign up. The best part of this system is you choose what types of notifications you want to recieve, for what area(s), and how (home phone, cell phone, email, text...).
Join the Gowanda Emergency Notification System Now!
The Village of Gowanda is now participating in the Code Red notification system. This emergency notification system will allow officials to alert residents and first responders of urgent concerns such as impending flooding or severe weather. In order to be added to the database for notification, you must sign up online at the link below.
This allows unlisted numbers, cell phone numbers, and even TDD/TTY customers to sign up to receive emergency alerts. There is also a mobile app available for download on the Code Red website.
