Introductory Vegetable Production Workshop on Soil Management
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Allegany/Cattaraugus Counties will partner with 9 other counties in Western New York for farm or agricultural services through the Cornell Vegetable Program. Members’ of the Vegetable Team work with both commercial and direct market growers on topics related to production, marketing, regulations and more. Please join us on Monday, March 28 from 6:15-8:30 PM at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 50 South Street (Route 305), Cuba, NY.
You will have the opportunity to meet the Cornell Vegetable Program Specialists and attend an introductory workshop for vegetable production soil management. Topic presented will address soil health to reduce diseases, insects and weeds while promoting vigorous crops; mulch and fertility considerations for pest management and soil management for greenhouses as well as the food safety implications for local growers. Participants will be surveyed to identify future programming and training needs of growers.
There is no fee, pre-registration is requested by March 25th to assure adequate space and handout materials. Pesticide credits through DEC 1.0 credit available in Categories 1a, 10 & 23.
