Thu, 07/31/2014 - 12:00pm - 1:00pm

The 3rd quarter’s birthday parties will held on Thursday, July 31, 2014, and will celebrate the birthdays of people born during the months of July, August and September. (The birthday party will be held on Friday, August 1, 2014, at the Little Valley site.) Mrs. Mackay said, “This is a great time for people to get together and celebrate one another’s birthdays. If you have never had the opportunity to visit the nutrition site in your community and your birthday falls within one of the honored months, we would like to invite you to attend this celebration.”

There are 11 Senior Wellness and Nutrition dining sites throughout the county. They are located in Allegany, Cattaraugus, Delevan, Franklinville, Gowanda, Little Valley(Party on August 1, 2014), Portville, Randolph, South Dayton, West Valley, and Olean, which has relocated to the John Ash Community Center on North Barry Street.

Lunch is served around noon at most of the sites and the menu will consist of goulash, chuck wagon corn, pineapple juice, and wheat bread with margarine. All sites will have a choice of reduced fat or fat-free milk. Dessert will be birthday cake and ice cream.

Reservations are required 24 hours in advance and can be made by calling the location of your choice. A voluntary donation of $3.25 is suggested to help offset the cost of the meal; however, no one will be denied a meal for the inability or the unwillingness to contribute.

If you are over 60 years of age and never been to a nutrition site before, this is a great time to visit. There is a good chance that you will meet up with an old friend or possibly meet a new one. If you have been to the nutrition site before, invite a friend to join you for this fun, festive celebration.
