Diabetes Self-Management Class
Do you have diabetes? Are you unsure about how to best handle this ongoing health condition? Join the Department of the Aging/NY Connects for a 6-week class designed to help you discover fresh, practical ways to live better and healthier.
Learn tools to manage and take control of your health, such as:
Dealing with the symptoms of diabetes, such as fatigue, pain, hyper/hypoglycemia
Managing stress and other emotional concerns such as depression, anger, fear, frustration
Appropriate exercise for maintaining and improving strength and endurance
Appropriate use of medication
Working more effectively with health care providers
Classes will be held on February 23, March 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30 from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the John J. Ash Community Center, 112 N. Barry Street, Olean, NY.
