Funding for Youth Programs
The Cattaraugus County Youth Bureau is responsible for the administration of Youth Development Program (YDP) funding for various youth programs throughout Cattaraugus County. These funds originate from the New York State Office of Children and Family Services Office of Youth Development. The funding is used to support programs for Cattaraugus County youth age 0-21 that provide services, opportunities and supports designed to improve our youth and community. Municipalities and not-for-profit organizations operating a youth program that focuses on youth development are welcome to apply.
Target areas of eligible programs include academic enrichment, career enrichment, mentoring, counseling, youth leadership and service, civic engagement, and summer or year-round recreation. Also, eligible programs include those whose purpose is to target specific youth groups and/or services including school dropouts, victims of child abuse or domestic violence, peer counseling, risk prevention, and more.
The application process will begin in April and funds are generally allocated to youth programs in May of each year.
