Cattaraugus County to Waive Fees at Transfer Stations for Storm Debris

The Cattaraugus County Legislature has unanimously approved a measure to allow Cattaraugus County residents affected by the recent flooding throughout the region to dispose of storm debris free of charge at the Portville, Allegany, and Salamanca Transfer Stations on Saturday, December 11th and Saturday, December 18th.

The Allegany Transfer Station located at 11 West Union Street will operate from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and will accept bagged storm debris only. Regular household garbage may be disposed of at the regularly scheduled fees. Contact 716-372-7822.

The Portville Transfer Station located at 99 Critchlow Drive in Westons Mills will operate from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and will accept both storm damaged bulky items and bagged storm debris. Regular household garbage may be disposed of at the regularly scheduled fees. Contact 716-372-6298.

The Salamanca Transfer Station located at 289 Center Street will operate from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm and will accept both bulky storm damaged items and bagged storm debris. Regular household garbage may be disposed of at the regularly scheduled fees. Contact 716-945-1212.
