Are you a veteran? Would you like to learn about your health benefits? Would you like to further your education? Would you like to learn about job training? Would you like to help other veterans? Do you want to start your own business? Do you own a business and want to sell to the government? Would you like to know what death benefits are available?

If your answer is “YES” to any of these questions, we have the answers. The Cattaraugus County Veterans Agency, Jamestown Community College (JCC) Cattaraugus County Campus and the City of Olean in partnership with Buffalo State’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the Cattaraugus County Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) are hosting a Veterans Outreach Event. The Outreach will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2011 from 10:00 Am until 1:00 PM in the College Center Building on the JCC Cattaraugus County Campus. The College Center Building is located on North Union Street. There is plenty of free parking on campus as well as the nearby City of Olean parking lots.

Representatives from various support groups, government and not-for-profit agencies, schools, colleges, universities and the Veterans Administration will present to help veterans find real answers to health and benefit concerns, job training, education benefits and business development. Want to assist other veterans? Come in and ask how! There will be areas set aside for confidential one-on-one counseling.

Regulations are consistently changing. If you know a Veteran, urge them to attend! If you are a Veteran, we urge you to attend!

According to John Sampson, Director of the Veterans Service Agency, there are over 8,000 registered veterans in Cattaraugus County. Our mission is to ensure that every veteran in the County is registered and knows what benefits are available to him or her.
