Sponsors Local Police Training

 

Little Valley, NY – Sheriff Timothy S. Whitcomb announces the completion of local police trainings. On April 26, 2013 thirteen local law enforcement officers completed 80 hours of specialized training as a General Topic Instructor. Participants were instructed on topics ranging from Defining Training Needs, Psychology of Learning, Writing Instructional Objectives, Oral Communications, and Lesson Planning.  In addition, officers were required to give a 1 minute, 2 minute, 5 minute, 10 minute,  and 50 minute presentation. Participants included:

  • Deputy Timothy Pence, Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office
  • Communication Specialist Timothy McVaugh, Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office
  • Patrolman Tina Owens, Salamanca Police Department
  • Deputy Max Graham, Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office
  • Deputy Joseph Yerpe, Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office
  • Trooper Steven Flower, New York State Police
  • Patrolman Ian Spencer, Olean City Police Department
  • Patrolman Lance Edwards, Olean City Police Department
  • Officer Kyle Suckow, Erie County Medical Center Police Department
  • Officer Joseph Carlo, Erie County Medical Center Police Department
  • Sergeant James Comstock, Olean Police Department
  • Investigator Benjamin Shields, Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office

 

Completion of this training allows participants to teach any general topics class to other law enforcement officers.
