Funding Available For Youth Programs
The Cattaraugus County Youth Bureau is responsible for the administration of funding for various youth programs throughout Cattaraugus County. These funds originate from the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. The application process will begin in April 2014 and funds are generally allocated to youth programs in May of each year.
Programs eligible for funding fall under the categories of:
Youth Development Delinquency Prevention (YDDP) – these programs target positive youth development while focusing on prioritized areas such as academic enrichment, career enrichment, mentoring, counseling, recreation and youth leadership, service, and civic engagement. Municipal recreation programs and juvenile officer programs both fall under this category. These awards require a 50% agency match.
Special Delinquency Prevention Programs (SDPP) – these programs target specific youth groups and/or services including school dropouts, victims of child abuse or domestic violence, peer counseling, risk prevention, and more. These awards do not require an agency match.
If your municipality or not-for-profit organization operates a program designed towards youth and is interested in applying for funding for 2014, please fill out the following form to have information sent to you.
