Lady Bonnies team up for foster care during National Adoption Month
Families enjoying the 1 p.m. Nov. 30 St. Bonaventure Lady Bonnies basketball game vs. Binghamton with their children will also be able to learn how to help other youth in our community.
Cattaraugus County’s Department of Social Services has teamed up with the Lady Bonnies to showcase, not only the team, but the department’s foster care program during National Adoption Month.
In addition to the basketball game, Family Day will give spectators a chance to enjoy activities such as a bounce house, fun, prizes and giveaways. Foster families who have gone through the department’s foster care program will be recognized, and information about the program will be available for those wanting to learn more about foster care and adoption.
The department’s program seeks to match children in need of temporary and permanent homes with forever families. To get involved, perspective families learn about how to provide care to a foster child during classes provided by the department.
To find out more about becoming a foster or adoptive parent, attend the game or call the Cattaraugus County Department of Social Services Home-Finder, Kayla Cheseboro at 716-701-3664 for more information.
