Clean and Tune Program to Begin August 1st
HEAP COOLING PROGRAM ENDS FOR 2016, CLEAN AND TUNE PROGRAM TO BEGIN AUGUST 1ST.
The Cattaraugus County Department of Social Services announces that the Heap Cooling Program for 2016 will end Friday, August 29th, 2016.
The Heap Cooling Program provides for the purchase and installation of air conditioners and fans to low income households that include a member with a medical condition that is intensified by the warm weather. This program began on May 1st, 2016, and assisted nearly 140 Cattaraugus County residents.
On the heels of the Cooling Program ending, a Heating Equipment Clean and Tune Program will begin effective August 1st. This program will provide assistance to a Heap eligible household to have their primary heating system cleaned and tuned, in preparation of the 2016-2017 heating season.
Applicants for the Clean and Tune benefit must meet the HEAP income guidelines for the 2015-16 program year, and reside in a HEAP eligible living situation in Cattaraugus County. Eligibility factors include that the applicant must be a homeowner, the primary heating equipment must be more than 12 months old, and the applicants primary heating equipment must not have been cleaned within the past 12 months. An application must be completed and applicants may require an interview. Interviews may be done in person at the Olean office of the Cattaraugus County Department of Social Services or by phone. Applications may be received in person, by mail, by fax, or through an authorized representative. On-line applications are not being accepted for this program.
