Department of the Aging / NY Connects to Host Diabetes Self-Management Class

Do you have diabetes? Are you unsure about how to best handle this ongoing health condition? Join the Department of the Aging/NY Connects for a 6-week class designed to help you discover fresh, practical ways to live better and healthier. Learn tools to manage and take control of your health, such as:

  • Dealing with the symptoms of diabetes, such as fatigue, pain, hyper/hypoglycemia

  • Managing stress and other emotional concerns such as depression, anger, fear, frustration

  • Appropriate exercise for maintaining and improving strength and endurance

  • Healthy eating

  • Appropriate use of medication

  • Working more effectively with health care providers

Classes will be held on February 23, March 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30 from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the John J. Ash Community Center, 112 N. Barry Street, Olean, NY.
