Free Class on How to Become a Certified Minority or Woman-Owned Small Business in NYS

Cattaraugus County Department of Economic Development, Planning and Tourism’s program, Cattaraugus Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) is hosting a free informational session on the certification process for Empire State Development’s MWBE Program. This class is designed to give business owners a better understanding of the program, the requirements to qualify, the definition of an MWBE, required documentation, the application process, as well as tips for making the application process run smoothly. The session will also include tips on maximizing your certification, the importance of creating a capability statement and assistance with government contracting. New York has taken strong steps to increase utilization of MWBE’s in their government contracts which can be a confusing to navigate. This program is designed to walk you through the process of becoming a Certified MBWE business.

The MWBE Certification training will take place at the Little Valley County Center on April 25, 2017 at 6:30 in the Civil Defense Room. There is no cost to attend. If you are not currently in business but interested in starting a new business, we encourage you to attend also!

The Cattaraugus Procurement and Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) is a marketing and technical assistance program that assists businesses in the western and central southern tier of New York State to navigate government contracting and procurement opportunities.
