Cattaraugus County Department of Economic Development is in preparations for the 5th Annual OnoFest being held August 11, 2012 at the Onoville Marina, 8 miles south of Exit 17 off I 86 on West Perimeter Road, Steamburg, NY.
OnoFest is a one day event that will start at Noon and run to 9:00 p.m. It is a family oriented event scheduled to have arts; crafts; food; games and contests for the young and old alike; bands throughout the day with a grand finale of fireworks at dusk! Special activities are being planned for the children in the family. There is no rain date for this event, it will be held rain or shine.
Nearly 180 people attended the First Annual Cattaraugus County Farmer-Neighbor Dinner on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, in Ellicottville, NY.

On Saturday, March 3, 2012 Cornell University Cooperative Extension will be sponsoring the 20th Annual Rural Landowner Workshop. The program will begin at 9:00 AM and end at 3:00 PM. There will be three concurrent sessions with approximately four classes per session and you must choose one class per session.
Horses are one of the most magnificent creatures on Earth-----do you feel this way? Do you always wish you knew more about horses and their care? This 4 week, 4 night educational program is designed for anyone wishing to learn more about horses - no matter whether you are a beginner or a seasoned equestrian there will be information for all. The program will include guest presenters on different topics such as feeding, trail riding, showing, styles of riding, safety, veterinary care, housing among others each night as well as a planned visit to a local horse farm.
The growing season is still in full swing, but here at the Northeast Beginning Farmer Project, we're already thinking about "education season". Six of our 7 online courses - including 4 new topics - are still open for registration, ready to help you continue your farming education.
