Cattaraugus County is proud to present the new Bicentennial Memory Book which showcases the events of our 2008 Bicentennial Celebrations.
This 84 page book is full color, chock full of photography and highlights all the activities that were held during the bicentennial year.
The annual Spirit of Gowanda Dinner, sponsored by the Gowanda Area Chamber of Commerce will be held on Saturday, March 27th at the American Legion in Gowanda. The evening will begin with a social hour at 5:30, followed by a catered dinner at 6:30.
This year, the Chamber, (departing from the usual Spirit format honoring individuals and businesses for outstanding contributions to the community) will instead CELEBRATE the immense SPIRIT that permeated the village in the days following the August 2009 flood.
Nine area snowmobile clubs that maintain trails in Cattaraugus County will benefit from the annual snowmobile registration fees collected by New York State. New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation recently awarded Cattaraugus County, the municipal sponsor, $171,535.00 in funding to help improve and maintain the 353 miles of funded snowmobile trails in Cattaraugus County.
Debra Opferbeck, Tourism Specialist for the Cattaraugus County Department of Economic Development, Planning and Tourism announced that the FREE 2009 – 2010 Snowmobile brochure and map is now available. On one side of the brochure is a 24” by 18 ½” map of the trails with labels for trail numbers, junction numbers and a business legend for the gas, food or lodging. The brochure contains the name, address, phone number, longitudes and latitudes of the snowmobile related businesses through-out the County. The businesses are listed under the categories of:
