The American Red Cross and Cummins Engine JEP are now accepting nominations from Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties for “Hometown Heroes” in the following categories:
Good Samaritan Adult
Good Samaritan Youth
Animal Rescue Hero
Workplace /Industrial Safety
Lifeline / 9-1-1

New York State will hold its Republican and Democratic Presidential Primaries from noon to 9 p.m. on April 19. The primaries are closed. Only members of the Democratic and Republican voters may vote on the two parties' respective ballots. Here are the sample ballots for Cattaraugus County:
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. This month and throughout the year, the Cattaraugus County Department of Social Services encourages all individuals and organizations to play a role in making Cattaraugus County a better place for children and families.
Pay Delinquent 2015 and 2014 Property taxes before March 31.
After that date, 2016 Property Taxes will be turned over to the County for collection, and you will have to pay newer taxes before the older taxes (2016, then 2015, then 2014). Please see our Taxpayer guide, for more details on tax collection.
The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting a hunters’ education class for the gun portion only on the following dates and time: Monday, April 11, 2016 and Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from 4:30 to 10:00 p.m. The class will be held at the Allegany State Park, Camp Allegany.
There will be a FREE Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Day on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the Cattaraugus County DPW, Allegany Highway Facility, in Allegany, NY. Be sure to call & register by 6/3/16.
