There will be a rabies clinic held at the Cattaraugus County Department of Public Works garage in Little Valley.  This clinic will be open from 9 am to noon on May 3, 2014.

The NY Amish Trail is currently accepting new member applications for 2015.

In order to be eligible applicants must meet the Tourism Business Criteria. Which includes businesses that provide overnight accommodations (B&B, hotels, etc.), restaurants, entertainment, roadside stands & farmer markets, gift shops, and souvenir marketplaces or other venues targeting travels and local tourists?

Free Legal Assistance available for Cattaraugus County Seniors

Did you know that the Cattaraugus County Department of the Aging/NY Connects may be able to help with legal services and/or can provide information about other attorney resources? The Department of the Aging has funding set aside to assist county seniors with priority concerns such as Social Security retirement benefits, family, and survivor benefits; railroad retirement benefits, and health care issues. Legal assistance can be provided for concerns such as eligibility, benefit amounts, and overpayments.

Free Tax Assistance available for Cattaraugus County Senior Citizens

For over 30 years, the Internal Revenue Service and AARP have sponsored the Tax Counseling for the Elderly program which provides free counseling and preparation of tax returns for senior citizens. Beginning February 3, in conjunction with the Cattaraugus County Department of the Aging/NY Connects, volunteers will be available to assist county seniors with their taxes. The primary mission of the program is to help those ages 50 and older, but no one is ever turned away because of age.

Printer Sought for 2015 Underground Railroad Brochure

Cattaraugus County Department of Economic Development, Planning and Tourism is currently requesting proposals for the printing of an Underground Railroad Brochure.

The brochure will have an original size of 24x18, and include text and graphics on both sides, using four color processing. It will need to be folded accordion size vertically, then in half horizontally, reducing to a final size of 4x9. Please provide quotes for the quantities of 3,000, 3,500 and 4,000.

Cattaraugus County Creates Community Revitalization Fund

The Cattaraugus County Department of Economic Development, Planning and Tourism announced today the creation of a Community Revitalization Fund (CRF) to provide up to $5,000 to support a variety of local community improvement activities. Crystal Abers, Director of the Department stated, “The County is interested in working with communities that recognize and value the importance of improving and preserving their unique rural heritage and aesthetic character, but lack ample or sufficient capacity to act on it.”
