A new exhibit has opened at the Cattaraugus County Museum! It is called "An Olio", meaning a miscellaneous mixture or collection, because it features a number of widely varied items.
Many of these items, though very interesting, are one-of-a-kind and rarely fit into larger exhibits. Because of this, we have decided to create an exhibit solely dedicated to these unusual items!

Trick or treat? A Halloween party and a birthday party on the same day…definitely a treat!
Cathy Mackay, director of the Cattaraugus County Department of the Aging, has announced plans for the upcoming quarterly birthday party to be held at the senior wellness and nutrition (SWAN) sites. The birthday party will be held in conjunction with Halloween, and seniors are encouraged to dress up in their favorite costume. The parties will be held on Thursday, October 31, and will celebrate the birthdays of people born during the months of October, November and December. Mrs. Mackay said, “This is a great time for people to get together and celebrate one another’s birthdays. If you have never had the opportunity to visit the nutrition site and it is your birthday, we would like to invite you to attend this celebration.”
