Cathy Mackay, director of the Cattaraugus County Department of the Aging, has announced plans for the upcoming quarterly birthday party, 3rd Quarter of 2014, to be held at the Senior Wellness and Nutrition sites located throughout the county.
The Cattaraugus County Department of Social Services is looking for foster and/or adoptive families.
Each year, dozens of children in Cattaraugus County enter foster care. Safe, temporary housing with loving families is needed to keep kids close to their schools, churches, friends and families.
The Cattaraugus County Department of Health may conduct aerial spraying to kill mosquito larvae in breeding areas located in the townships of: Allegany, Carrollton, Great Valley, Olean, Portville and Salamanca.
Cathy Mackay, director of the Cattaraugus County Department of the Aging, has announced that Cattaraugus County has been awarded 660 Senior Farmers Market coupon booklets, valued at $13,200. Each booklet contains five $4.00 coupons ($20.00 value), and can be used to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at participating Farmers' Markets in Cattaraugus County.

Cattaraugus County Department of Social Services clients using Medicaid transportation will have a new process to use to access transportation services beginning August 1, 2014.
Medical Answering Service (MAS) will coordinate and oversee all areas pertaining to medical travel in Cattaraugus County. Those wishing to make medical transportation arrangements for appointments with dates of services after August 1, 2014 should contact MAS at 1-866-371-4751.

Little Valley, NY – Sheriff Timothy S. Whitcomb announces the graduation of three Correction Officer Recruit Graduates from the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Basic Academy for Correction Officers.
The Basic Corrections Academy was facilitated by Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Correction/Training Division. The Academy consisted of 160 hours of classroom training, defensive tactics and first aid/CPR.
