Protecting people everywhere they travel
“Signs, signs everywhere a sign…” These famous words, written by Les Emmerson for the Canadian rock band Five Man Electrical Band, were popularized in the early 1970’s during a time of social and political changes. Although these lyrics express frustration over a series of signs, today’s signs have a very important reason for their existence…to protect public health and safety.
The second public forum on the County’s Comprehensive Plan will be held on Thursday, June 21st at 6:00pm at the Mansfield Town Hall, 7691 Toad Hollow Road, Little Valley. The topic of this forum will be Agriculture.
LITTLE VALLEY, NEW YORK (June 14, 2012) – Cattaraugus County will host a public information meeting on its Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan to obtain public comments, and to provide information on this comprehensive mitigation project. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 27 at 6:30 p.m. at the Little Valley County Center.
In 1978, Cattaraugus County adopted its first Comprehensive Plan, entitled the Cattaraugus County Land Use Plan 2000. Since then, many changes have occurred in our County, many not anticipated or envisioned by the Plan.
A New exhibit has opened at the Cattaraugus County Museum in Machias! Titled “From Forest to Farm”, the exhibit features a wide variety of tools, primarily representing agriculture and the lumber industry. The showcase of the exhibit is a display of saws and sharpening tools on loan from the collection of Mr. Allan Fish of Great Valley; some dating back to 1809. Come and see!
