Madison County seeks a Director to provide accurate, timely information and advice on real property appraisal, equalization and assessment for our Real Property Tax Services Office. The work involves responsibility for the administration, supervision and operation of the Real Property Tax Services Office.
Cattaraugus County ranks third in the state of New York for the number of adults who smoke tobacco. The county has the highest number of adults who smoke tobacco in Western New York. The age adjusted percentage of adults who smoke in Cattaraugus County is 31.5 which is twice the New York State rate of 15.4% (Figure 1).1 In Western New York, the age adjusted percentage of adults who smoke is 20.8%.

The Cattaraugus County Health Department and Rural Revitalization Corp. have partnered together to offer a well and septic system repair program. This Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program helps low-to-moderate income homeowners repair or replace failing septic systems, private water supplies, and public water services in Cattaraugus County.

It is my pleasure to present to you the Cattaraugus County Health Department’s 2016 Annual Report. This report provides an overview of the many services that the department provides in an effort to preserve and promote public health in Cattaraugus County.
The Cattaraugus County Department of Social Services is ready to help area youth find summer jobs through the Summer Youth Employment Program. The Department will assist youth between the ages of 14 and 20 who meet eligibility requirements with job interview skills, professional conduct and in finding employment. Last year Cattaraugus County Department of Social Services staff assisted 144 area youth from communities across Cattaraugus County.
Getting older doesn’t mean what it used to. For many aging Americans, it is a phase of life where interests, goals, and dreams can get a new or second start. Today, aging is about eliminating outdated perceptions and living the way that suits you best.
Through the Western New York Alzheimer’s Caregiver Partnership (WNYACP), partners Catholic Charities of Buffalo, the Alzheimer’s Association, Western New York Chapter, and seven county Offices for the Aging in WNY, are helping caregivers of persons with dementia.
Supported by a New York State Department of Health grant, WNYACP assists residents of Erie, Niagara, Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Genesee and Wyoming counties.
