The sale of tobacco products to minors (under 18) is a violation of NYS Public Health Law, Article 13-F: Regulation of Tobacco Products and Herbal Cigarettes; Distribution to Minors. Additionally, the Cattaraugus County Legislature recently passed a local law prohibiting the sale of tobacco and nicotene containing products to anyone under the age of twenty-one (21).

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office proudly announces on Wednesday, January 25th, 2017 Sheriff Timothy Whitcomb was sworn in as President of the NYS Sheriffs’ Association. Sheriff Whitcomb was joined at the ceremony by several local officials, current and former. Holding the Bible during the oath was Retired Sheriff Jerry Burrell, who served Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office from 1985-1996.
The Cattaraugus County Department of Economic Development, Planning and Tourism is seeking input on recreational trails in the County. A survey prepared by Barton and Loguidice, consultants for the County, is available on the Cattaraugus County’s website. Any person or group interested in existing trails and new trails in the County are asked to complete the survey.
