The Cattaraugus County Department of the Aging’s Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) announced their Outstanding Volunteer Community Contribution Award recipients before a gathering of more than 300 people at the 42nd Annual Retired Senior Volunteer Recognition Reception held in May at the Great Valley Banquet Hall. This year the RSVP Advisory Council selected volunteers Stella Balcerzak and Beverly Miller.
The Cattaraugus County Department of Social Services is pleased to join the New York State Bureau of Adult Services in recognizing World Elder Abuse Awareness Day on Monday June 15, 2015 and asks Cattaraugus County residents to show their support by wearing purple to work that day.
The Office of Emergency Services has added an American Heart Assoication (CPR) Instructor Course to the Course schedule. Individuals who maybe interested in this course should visit the Emergency Services EMS Training webpage at www.cattco.org/ems-training or by clicking here and review the AHA Instructor Course Information & Application Packet.
All interested individuals should submit an application to enroll in the course to the Office of Emergency Services no later than June 5, 2015.
The Cattaraugus County Mosquito Spraying Areas - Map Viewer identifies areas within Cattaraugus County where larvicide spraying could occur. Larvicide spraying only occurs when routine larvae monitoring indicates that an exceptional number of larvae are present in surface water bodies (i.e. ponds & wetlands) representing possible public health concerns.For more more information about the mosquito spraying program contact the Environmental Health Division at 716-701-3385.
Sheriff Timothy S. Whitcomb and the members of the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office would like to congratulate the 60th Session of the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Academy upon their graduation from the basic course for police officers. Eight Cattaraugus County residents completed the Basic Course for Police Officers academy training, which began in August 2014 and concluded April 30, 2015 at graduation.
