All civil proceedings are handled in this division and are processed by two civil clerks. Senior Civil Clerk, Karla Hanft, can be contacted at 716-938-2248 or kshanft [at] cattco [dot] org.  Civil process is served by all road patrol deputies as they work their shifts. This allows the road patrol deputies the chance to become more familiar with the people living in their patrol zones.

All New York State Pistol Permits that are issued to residents of Cattaraugus County are maintained by the Pistol Permit Clerk. Please refer to the Pistol Permit page on our website for specific information.

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office actively pursues grant monies from various sources in an attempt to reduce the financial burden of law enforcement on the taxpayers of Cattaraugus County. Cindy Lauer is our grant writer and administers grants amounting in almost $3,000,000.00 that the department has been awarded from various sources. These grants have allowed us to add personnel and equipment that was badly needed.

Training Coordinator, Investigator Christa Heckathorn oversees all the training needs and requirements for the Sheriff’s Office. She also is assigned as the Accreditation Program Manager. Questions pertaining to training and the Agency’s Accreditation can be sent to clheckathorn [at] cattco [dot] org or calling 716-938-2572.
