The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) ban on burning begins on March 15, 2012, and continues through May 15, 2012.
This regulation means that there are no open fires allowed during the March 15th to May 15th time period.

The New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control reminds New Yorkers who reside in smaller communities of the Department of Environmental Conservation’s ban on burning residential brush during the state’s historically high fire risk period which began March 16 and runs through May 14.
