Southern Tier Crop Congress scheduled for January 10th

Cornell University Cooperative Extension of Allegany/Cattaraugus Counties will be presenting the Southern Tier Crop Congress in Belfast, NY.The event will be held Friday Jan. 10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Belfast Fire Hall, just off from Route 19.

Attendees will have an opportunity to hear about recent updates in field crop and forage production, as well as speak with industry representatives about the newest products on the market. Read more

Master Gardener Training

Training will be held each Tuesday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Ellicottville Town Center/Cooperative Extension Center, 28 Parkside Drive, Ellicottville, NY 14731.

Snowmobile Safety Class - Portville, NY

Historian Meetings - Open Discussion

The Cattaraugus County Department of Economic Development, Planning and Tourism along with historians from around the County will host two evening meetings in November. These meetings will be open to anyone that may have information or an interest in the meeting topics. The meetings will be held at the County Building in Little Valley in the Large Committee Room on the 3rd floor and will begin at 6:00 pm.

Underground Railroad Meeting

The meeting will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at the County Building in Little Valley in the Large Committee Room on the 3rd floor and will begin at 6:00 pm.

Open Mic Poetry Reading

There will be an open mic December 30th at 7 p.m. at the Olean Public Library. Reading will be the winners of the Friends of the Library Poetry contest(if you know high school students in local schools encourage them to submit their work for cash prizes) and writers from the MHA workshop.

Poem Reading by Tom Krampf

Tom Krampf will be reading poems on November 7th at 7 p.m. at the Olean Public Library. Tom's Selected Poems is out from Salmon Poetry in Ireland. Also, Tom is retiring after running the literary program at the library for 30 years.
