On Saturday, March 2, 2013 Cornell University Cooperative Extension will be sponsoring the 21st Annual Rural Landowner Workshop. The program will begin at 9:00 AM and end at 3:00 PM. There will be an open session on the Ecology of Alaska followed by three concurrent sessions with four classes per session and you must choose one class per session. Read more
In celebration of National Agriculture Week (March 18th -22nd), volunteers throughout New York State will read a book with an agricultural theme to second graders. Students and teachers will also benefit from follow up activities and hands-on projects. The book will be given to the school library with a bookplate recognizing the donor and NY Ag Literacy Week. 1,400 books were donated last year while thousands of second graders participated in fun and educational activities. This event is a way to bring the County’s farmers and their neighbors together for a night of fellowship and understanding. Learn the history of dessert breads and the various methods and different ingredients used in creating traditional and custom loaves.
