Commissioner Martens Reminds Small Communities of High Fire Risk Season and State Ban on Brush Burning

Residential Brush Burning Prohibited March 16 - May 14

The New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control reminds New Yorkers who reside in smaller communities of the Department of Environmental Conservation’s ban on burning residential brush during the state’s historically high fire risk period which began March 16 and runs through May 14. Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC)

The primary duty of the LEPC is to develop an emergency response plan for Cattaraugus County and its included municipalities, and to review such plan annually.  This plan shall contain, as a minimum, all the elements set forth in PL 99-499 for such plans. Read more

Critical Incident Stress Management

Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Team

Cattaraugus County has a CISM Team available to serve groups and individuals, upon their request, exposed to critical incidents and related stress.  Cattaraugus County CISM Team's primary responsiblity is to provide service to the fire and emergency medical services personnel within the County.  Cattaraugus County CISM Team is organized under and overseen by the Cattaraugus County Office of Emergency Services.
