Fire Advisory Board

Cattaraugus County Fire Advisory Board is organized in accordance with Section 225-a of the County Law of the State of New York.  The Fire Advisory Board (FAB) acts as an advisory board to the County Legislature and to the County Emergency Services Director.

The FAB has 21 members - 18 interested people representing all areas of Cattaraugus County (from all 5 fire districts in the county) and 3 members from the Public Safety Committee of the County Legislature.  Membership vacancies must be filled with approval by the County Legislature. Read more

Cattaraugus County Volunteer Fire Association

Dear fellow Firefighters and EMS Personnel,

This year the Cattaraugus County Volunteer Firefighters Association is proud to sponsor a $500.00 scholarship for continuing education. The application period begins February 1, 2011 and will end May 1, 2011. Applications must be postmarked no later than May 1, 2011 to be considered for the scholarship.

The following criteria are the eligibility requirements to be considered for the scholarship.

Residential Brush Burning Prohibited March 16 - May 14

The New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control reminds New Yorkers who reside in smaller communities of the Department of Environmental Conservation’s ban on burning residential brush during the state’s historically high fire risk period which began March 16 and runs through May 14. LEPC

Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC)

The primary duty of the LEPC is to develop an emergency response plan for Cattaraugus County and its included municipalities, and to review such plan annually.  This plan shall contain, as a minimum, all the elements set forth in PL 99-499 for such plans. Read more

Critical Incident Stress Management

Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Team

Cattaraugus County has a CISM Team available to serve groups and individuals, upon their request, exposed to critical incidents and related stress.  Cattaraugus County CISM Team's primary responsiblity is to provide service to the fire and emergency medical services personnel within the County.  Cattaraugus County CISM Team is organized under and overseen by the Cattaraugus County Office of Emergency Services.
