2014 Fall Rabies Clinics

There will be rabies clinics held at Cattaraugus County Department of Public Works garages in early September.  All three rabies clinics will be open from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm.

The Cattaraugus County Department of Health may conduct aerial spraying to kill mosquito larvae in breeding areas located in the townships of: Allegany, Carrollton, Great Valley, Olean, Portville and Salamanca.

Cattaraugus County Mosquito Spraying Areas - Map Viewer

The viewer below identifies areas within Cattaraugus County where larvicide spraying could occur.  Larvicide spraying only occurs when routine larvae monitoring indicates that an exceptional number of larvae are present in surface water bodies (i.e. ponds & wetlands) representing possible public health concerns. There will be a rabies clinic held at the Cattaraugus County Department of Public Works garage in Little Valley on May 3, 2014 from 9:00 am to Noon.

Rabies Vaccinations are required for ALL cats, dogs and domesticated ferrets by FOUR months of age (but not less than 12 weeks).

Cats and dogs are given a booster one year later and every three years thereafter. Ferrets must be vaccinated annually.

No charge for vaccination but donations accepted to help defray costs! Read more
