There will be a rabies clinic held at the Cattaraugus County Department of Public Works garage in Little Valley.  This rabies clinic will be open from 9 am to noon on May 4, 2013.

There will be a rabies clinic held at the Cattaraugus County Department of Public Works garage in Little Valley on May 4, 2013 from 9:00 am to Noon.

Rabies Vaccinations are required for ALL cats, dogs and domesticated ferrets by FOUR months of age (but not less than 12 weeks).

Cats and dogs are given a booster one year later and every three years thereafter. Ferrets must be vaccinated annually.

No charge for vaccination but donations accepted to help defray costs! Read more

Indoor Tanning Facilities

Effective August 15, 2012, New York State Public Health Law prohibits the use of ultraviolet tanning facilities by children 16 and under.  Additionally, patrons 17-18 years of age require parental consent to use these facilities.

All tanning facilities in New York State using ultraviolet radiation devices are required to obtain a permit to operate.  However, the Cattaraugus County Health Department does not currently have an indoor tanning program.  Tanning facilities in Cattaraugus County are permitted and regulated by the New York State Department of Health. "DOH-4472: Swimming Pool Safety Plan Template" is a fillable pdf produced by the NYS Department of Health to assist operators of public swimming pools in the development of required safety plans.

"DOH-4473: Bathing Beach Safety Plan Template" is a fillable pdf produced by the NYS Department of Health to assist operators of public bathing beaches in the development of required safety plans.

2012 Fall Rabies Clinics

There will be rabies clinics held at Cattaraugus County Department of Public Works garages in early September.  All three rabies clinics will be open from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
