Fire Investigation Team

The Cattaraugus County Fire Investigation Team (CATTFIT) was established in 1979 with grant money that was earmarked for arson prevention. At that time, the field of municipal arson investigation was rapidly growing. A team of investigators was chosen from the ranks of the volunteer fire service in Cattaraugus County and from area police agencies and began investigating fires in 1980. Cold Case Unit

cold caseThe Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office Cold Case Unit is a part of the Detective Division. The Unit is currently working on three cold case homicides and is seeking any and all information on these cases to help bring them to a successful conclusion. Exchange Club Kid's Day - Operation Safe Child Event

Detective Division

The Detective Division of the Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office is currently under the command of Chief of Detectives Captain Robert Yehl.
