According to the National Institute of Mental Health, Bipolar Disorder affects approximately 5.7 million people in the U.S., or nearly 3% of the population over the age of 18 in a given year.

Following the viewing of “Living with Bipolar Disorder” DVD, Dr. Shahnawaz Meer, M.D., consulting psychiatrist for Cattaraugus County Department of Community Services, Jamestown Psychiatric P.C., WCA, and Chautauqua County Mental Health will facilitate a question and answer forum regarding Bipolar Disorder and other mental health diagnoses. Clinic Services

Services are open to all residents of Cattaraugus County. The clinic accepts Medicaid, most insurances and also has a sliding scale for self-pay fees, based upon a person's income and ability to pay. Services include:

  • Counseling for children, adolescents, adults and families,
  • Group counseling,
  • Medication/psychiatric evaluations,
  • Aftercare services,
  • Nursing/health assessments,
  • Court evaluations,
  • Referrals.
