What is a Pap smear?
The Pap smear (or Pap test) is a test done on your cervix. The cervix is the opening to the uterus or womb. The doctor or nurse uses a swab, a small brush or small wooden stick to get a sample of cells from your cervix. The sample is sent to a lab where it is looked at under a microscope.
