Cattaraugus County Suicide Prevention Coalition

The Mental Health Association and Suicide Prevention Coalition of Cattaraugus County are sponsoring a FREE Question, Persuade, Refer Suicide Prevention training to the community on Tuesday June 24, 2014 from 1-2:30 PM in the Magnano Room at the Cutco Theater at the JCC Olean Campus. This training is free and open to anyone who is interested.

There will be a FREE one and a half hour Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Suicide Prevention training open to the public on Tuesday June 24th. 2014 from 1-2:30 PM at the Magnano Room in the Cutco Theater at the Olean JCC Campus.

Living with Bipolar Disorder... An Evening of Community Conversation and Education

According to the National Institute of Mental Health, Bipolar Disorder affects approximately 5.7 million people in the U.S., or nearly 3% of the population over the age of 18 in a given year.

Following the viewing of “Living with Bipolar Disorder” DVD, Dr. Shahnawaz Meer, M.D., consulting psychiatrist for Cattaraugus County Department of Community Services, Jamestown Psychiatric P.C., WCA, and Chautauqua County Mental Health will facilitate a question and answer forum regarding Bipolar Disorder and other mental health diagnoses. Help kick off Children's Mental Health Awareness Week with the Cattaraugus County Suicide Prevention Coalition!

Dr. Anthony R. Pisani will be presenting a Commitment to Living Workshop (CTL): A practical and compassionate approach for responding to children and adolescents with suicide risk. Dr. Pisani developed and tested CTL as a half-day workshop geared towards busy clinicians in challenging clinical environments.
