News from Sheriff's Office, Posted on Thu, 12/26/2013 - 11:00am

Jolly Old St. Nick recently made a call to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office Program Director Deputy Brian Keis to get an update and final count on the 2013 giving season.  He was pleased to hear that fundraising efforts brought in nearly $7,600; a number much higher than last season.  Deputy Keis reports that the program provided Christmas presents and dinner for 32 County families a total of 131 men, women, and children. This is 6 more families than last year and is the highest number that the program has seen since it began in 2004.  Each year we find a greater need for help in our communities and we do everything possible to provide as many as we can.

Program Director Deputy Brian Keis believes that this great community will continue to provide the donations needed each year in order to make Christmas a day to remember for our neighbors.

He would also like to take a moment and thank all of the business owners and organizations that made the donations to make this years program a HUGE success !!! With a special thanks to the students of Cattaraugus – Little Valley School for the gift wrapping help they provided.

If you are interested in donating to the 2014 giving season for the Santa Sheriff’s Program, please contact Sheriff Timothy Whitcomb at 938-9191 ext. 2247 or Deputy Brian Keis at 938-9191 ext. 2899.  Contributions can be made payable to the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation, c/o Deputy Brian Keis, Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, 301 Court Street, Little Valley, New York 14755.  Please indicate in the memo section “Santa Sheriff’s Program”.
