Paul Brown Chevrolet Donates to Meals on Wheels/Friends of Aging Foundation Fund
On Tuesday, December 19, staff from the Cattaraugus County Department of the Aging received a donation from Paul Brown Chevrolet for their Meals on Wheels/Friends of Aging Foundation Fund. The folks at Paul Brown Chevy wanted to give back to the community to a program that could be positively impacted at this holiday season. This past year, over 112,000 meals were provided to elderly Cattaraugus County residents.
"Delivering meals to so many people across an entire rural county is no easy task", stated Cathy Mackay, Department of the Aging Director. As winter approaches, the program also provides additional shelf stable and frozen meals to people in case of inclement weather when volunteers may not be able to get to a home. All of these extra shelf stable meals mean extra funding and provisions are always needed at this time of year. "This donation is coming at the perfect time for our program", added Lisa Swaciak, Home Delivered Meal Coordinator.
