Aging

Do you have a desire to help others?   Do you have a bit of free time to spare?  If so, the Cattaraugus County Department of the Aging's Senior Wellness and Nutrition Program needs your help.   There is an immediate need for volunteers to deliver Meals on Wheels in Franklinville, Olean, Salamanca, and South Dayton areas.   Meals are typically delivered Monday through Friday.   Most volunteers deliver 7 to 12 meals once a week, and it takes about one hour to complete a delivery route.

The Meals on Wheels program supports homebound recipients by helping them preserve their independence, delay and prevent nursing home placement, and improve or maintain their current health status.  Without volunteers, the delivery of meals would be impossible.

If you would like to help others by delivering meals, or it you have any questions about volunteering, please call Ellen Herner, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) Director, at 716-373-8032 or 800-462-2901.
