Cattaraugus County Treasurer, Joseph G. Keller, has announced that the County is taking over the collection of County Tax bills for parcels within the City of Olean, starting January 2, 2021.  This arrangement is mutually beneficial to the County and to the City, with taxpayers benefitting by being able to pay by credit card, if they like.

You can pay in person at either the County Treasurer Office in Olean or in Little Valley, wearing a mask is required.

You may use a credit card by paying online at the County Treasurer’s Website.  A convenience fee will be charged by the processing bank.  If you pay with a debit card in person, using a PIN, there is a flat fee of $3.  If using debit, you will need to verify with your bank ahead of time to confirm you can debit that amount without going over their daily limit restriction.

You may also pay your County taxes by mail to the Five Star Bank Lockbox address shown on your bill, or in the drop-box at Five Star Bank in Allegany, Olean Drive-thru, Cuba or any other Five Star location during their regular hours (lobby access not guaranteed due to Covid). Please be sure you include a copy of the tax bills with your payment to be sure it is applied correctly.

Keep in mind that the bank does not post any payment at the local branches.  Your local branch will forward all payments to the lockbox office.  You can mail your payment directly to the lockbox if you wish.

The mailing address for Lockbox is:

c/o Five Star Bank
PO Box 31

School Tax and City Tax collection remain the same.
