Cattaraugus County Health Department was notified of nineteen additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 residents within Cattaraugus County. The department’s active positive COVID-19 caseload is now sixty one as there are two hundred and eighteen residents who have recovered from COVID-19.


The two hundred and seventy first confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. He reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person but reports being asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no body aches, etc.). He was given a rapid COVID-19 test on October 5thand his test results indicated that he was positive for the virus.


The two hundred and seventy second confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the northeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She is a healthcare worker who reports being asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no body aches, etc.). She was tested for COVID -19 on October 5thas a weekly requirement of all employees at the facility and her test results on October 7thindicated that she was positive for the virus.


The two hundred and seventy third confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. He reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person but reports being asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no body aches, etc.). He was tested for COVID-19 on October 6th, and his test results on October 7thindicated that he was positive for the virus.


The two hundred and seventy fourth confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. He reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person and recently developed congestion. He was tested for COVID-19 on October 6thand his test results on October 7th indicated that he was positive for the virus.


The two hundred and seventy fifth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. She is a healthcare worker who reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person but reports being asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no body aches, etc.). The two hundred and seventy seventh confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She developed congestion, running nose, body aches and loss and taste and smell. She was tested for COVID-19 on October 5thand her test results on October 8thindicated that she was positive for the virus.

The two hundred and seventy eight confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southwest quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She was recently hospitalized for shortness of breath, and was tested for COVID-19 on October 6th. Her test results on October 8thindicated that she was positive for the virus.

The two hundred and seventy ninth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She developed congestion, and fatigue. She was tested for COVID-19 on October 7thand her test results on October 8thindicated that she was positive for the virus.

The two hundred and eightieth, eighty first and eighty second confirmed case is a young female, and two young males (brothers and sister) residents who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county. The parent denies any significant travel history but reports they were in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. They developed fever, running nose and body aches. They were tested for COVID-19 on October 7thand their test results on October 8thindicated that they were positive for the virus.

The two hundred and eighty third and fourth confirmed case is two female residents (mother and daughter) who resides in the northeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. They report being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person and recently developed running noses. They were given a rapid COVID-19 test on October 8th and their test results indicated that they were positive for the virus.

The two hundred and eighty fifth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She developed fever, cough, congestion headaches, and chest pain. She was given a rapid COVID-19 test on October 8th and her test results indicated that she was positive for the virus.

The two hundred and eighty sixth confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. He reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person and recently developed cough, congestion, and backaches. He was given a rapid COVID-19 test on October 8th and his test results indicated that he was positive for the virus.

The two hundred and eighty seventh confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. The department has begun a thorough contact tracing investigation for those individuals that they have been in contact with and the places that they have visited.

We would like to reiterate that if any resident experience fever, cough, shortness of breath or whole body aches they should contact their health care provider (avoid going directly to an Urgent Care facility, or the Emergency Room before calling).
