Cattaraugus County Health Department was notified of eleven additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 residents within Cattaraugus County. The department’s active positive COVID-19 caseload is now one hundred and sixteen as there are three hundred and ninety four residents who have recovered from COVID-19.

The five hundred and nineteenth confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the northeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. He recently developed fever, cough, nausea, diarrhea, headaches, and body aches. He was given a rapid test for COVID-19 on November 5th and his test results indicated that he was positive for the virus.

The five hundred and twentieth confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. He reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person and recently developed loss of smell. He was tested for COVID-19 on November 3rd and his test results on November 5th indicated that he was positive for the virus.

The five hundred and twenty first confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the northeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. She is a healthcare worker who reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She recently developed diarrhea, vomiting and body aches. She was given a rapid test for COVID-19 on November 5th and her test results indicated that she was positive for the virus.

The five hundred and twenty second confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the northwest quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. She reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person and recently developed cough, headaches, body aches, and loss of taste and smell. She was tested for COVID-19 on November 3rdand her test results on November  5th indicated that she was positive for the virus.

The five hundred and twenty third confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. He reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person but reports being asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no body aches etc.). He was tested for COVID-19 on November 3rd as part of a screening process of the facility and his test results on November 5th indicated that he was positive for the virus.

The five hundred and twenty fourth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southwest quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. She is a healthcare worker who reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She recently developed fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, and fatigue. She was given a rapid test for COVID-19 on November 6th and her test results indicated that she was positive for the virus.

The five hundred and twenty fifth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. She is an employee of a healthcare facility and reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She recently developed fever, congestion, and headaches and was given a rapid test for COVID-19 on November 6th and her test results indicated that she was positive for the virus.

The five hundred and twenty sixth and twenty seventh confirmed cases are two female residents (mother and daughter) who reside in the southwest quadrant of the county, they deny any significant travel history. They report being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person and recently developed fever, congestion, runny nose, shortness of breath, and headaches. They were given a rapid test for COVID-19 on November 6th and their test results indicated that they were positive for the virus.

The five hundred and twenty eighth confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the northwest quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. He is an employee of a group home and reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. He recently developed cough, sore throat, headaches and body aches. He was given a rapid test for COVID-19 on November 6th and his test results indicated that he was positive for the virus.

The five hundred and twenty ninth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person and recently developed fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, diarrhea, fatigue and headaches. She was given a rapid test for COVID-19 on November 6th and her test results indicated that she was positive for the virus.

The department has begun a thorough contact tracing investigation for those individuals that they have been in contact with and the places that they have visited.

We would like to reiterate that if any resident experience fever, cough, shortness of breath or whole body aches they should contact their health care provider (avoid going directly to an Urgent Care facility, or the Emergency Room before calling).
